Victory for a new Malaysia!

Alhamdulillah. Many praises and gratitude to Allah for giving Pakatan Rakyat a well deserved victory in the just concluded Permatang Pauh by-election yesterday.

I must humbly thank all voters who have expressed their beliefs via ballot box by resoundingly choosing Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim over BN's candidate Datuk Arif Shah Omar Shah, despite the mighty election machineries deployed by BN.

The thumping victory of Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim with a majority of 15,671 votes is definitely a clear sign that the people reject the politics of lies, slander, threats, corrupt practices, and racial discrimination that have been the trademark of Barisan Nasional and UMNO for the last fifty years.

If this victory does not make BN wake up from its sleep and ignorance, nothing will.

This victory is also a clear sign that the citizen of Malaysia are much more intelligent and critical than what BN might have assumed. They have confidently chosen an approach of unity as shown by the three pillars of Pakatan Rakyat: Pas, Parti Keadilan Rakyat, and DAP; and in doing so, they rejected the racist and divisive politics of Barisan Nasional.

The road ahead is full of challenges, and we know Barisan Nasional will not rest on its laurel in facing the new awakening of the Malaysian citizenry. Pakatan Rakyat has clearly shown that it is indeed a very formidable option for all Malaysians.

Together, let us walk towards a new dawn for Malaysia.

The panic titanic that is BN?

The swift nature of ACA investigation and arrest of several people in Perak today, including two state excos from PKR, made us really wonder if it is indeed a genuine corruption investigation, or a conveniently planned political agenda to derail Dato Seri Anwar's march to parliament, preceding his eventual march to Putrajaya in September as planned.

Do the powers that be intend to show to the public that PKR is as corrupt as UMNO/BN, and hence, what difference does it make in voting for Anwar for Permatang Pauh?

The so-called housing project under contention does not even exist, as explained by Dato Seri Ir Muhammad Nizar Jamaluddin today. How could someone get arrested supposedly for expediting the application of a RM180M project, when the project itself has not been approved yet? At best, it is very hard to fathom. At worst, it smacks of another political conspiracy, when Permatang Pauh by-election is just a few more days to go.

The march to Putrajaya, beginning with the victory in Permatang Pauh next week, is certainly making many people in the circle of power restless. It is not impossible, therefore, that this sensational story is indeed, part and parcel of a grand plan to thwart the wishes of the people to see real changes for the betterment of all Malaysians.

Turning the tide against BN

After being put on a defensive mode for the last 3 weeks with continued onslaught by UMNO and BN leaders in various available media, the time has come for Pas and Pakatan Rakyat to turn the tide against UMNO and BN.

It cannot be denied that Pas has been put on a corner by the media over its alleged talks on potential cooperation with UMNO over the last few weeks. Thanks to the quick and clear stand issued by the Mursyidul 'Am Y.A.B. Tuan Guru Dato' Haji Nik Abdul Aziz on the 'Muqabalah' nature of relationship with UMNO, followed by a formal statement by Tuan Guru Hj Abdul Hadi Awang last Thursday, this potential confusion that UMNO controlled media has tried to plant in Pas and in Pakatan Rakyat has now failed miserably.

The announcement by YB Dato Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail to vacate her Permatang Pauh seat to pave the way for Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahima to contest in a by-election, will only serve to amplify the confusion and the disorientation that the whole UMNO/BN leadership are still in, after the major shocks they suffered on March 8 this year.

Let us now push forward with this "masterplan" of adding more pressures to the government of Dato Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi by the re-entry of Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim to the Dewan Rakyat long before UMNO election in December. Let us make the tide work against BN and UMNO this time. And better yet, let's make it another political tsunami for UMNO and BN.
